BRIDGEPORT Salvage Efforts Continued Through Weekend

June 7, 2021

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla - Sunday, as forecast, while sea conditions eliminated dive operations on BRIDGEPORT, the crew mobilized the FARRELL 256 with three 450 CFM air compressors and pneumatic hoses that will be employed during the pressurization of the port side voids. The team also demobilized nonessential Javeler equipment.

The salvage crew rode CAPT. TIBB to the BRIDGEPORT. Onboard they rigged submersible pumps deeper into the #2, 3 & 4 starboard voids. The pumping will further reduce water weight to starboard and lessen ground reaction, which will be critical in the coming days. At day's end starboard #2 void has been dewatered to the best extent possible. Stripping of voids #3 & 4 has not yet been completed.

Onshore the plans for rotating the BRIDGEPORT are being finalized with sound engineering, and the resources required are being identified and sourced.

CAPT. TIBB worked throughout the day, transferring personnel and supplies. The STEPHEN DANN and THOMAS DANN will remain on location Sunday night.

Monday, the crew will return to the BRIDGEPORT to continue dewatering of the starboard voids. Development of the salvage plan will be finalized and provided for review.

Global will organize an onshore meeting of the vessel captains (STEPHEN DANN, THOMAS DANN, and MEAGAN ANN) who will be involved in rotating the BRIDGEPORT.

Health and safety of the community and responders plus the protection of the environment are the top priorities of the unified response.
